Hope rises like a phoenix from the ashes of shattered dreams
Gloria D. Blaire is a Corporate Security Manager for a leading health care organization and the CEO of Blaire Enterprises which is comprised of several small businesses, a Patent owner and has over 35 years of Law Enforcement experience. Gloria is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. She is married and has three adult children. She is the oldest of three and the only girl. She has a Bachelor of
Science degree in Health and Physical Education from North Carolina Agriculture and Technical State
University where she attended on a Basketball Scholarship and earned the position of Captain on her
College Basketball Team and earned MVP, Female athlete of the year and scored 40
points in one game. Gloria has a master’s degree in Business Administration from the University of
Phoenix. She holds an Advance Law Enforcement Certificate and is a Certified Law Enforcement
Instructor in the State of North Carolina. She is a Certified International Asp Baton Instructor,
Handcuffing Technique Instructor and a Certified NC PPSB Instructor. Gloria was featured in the Who’s
Who in Black Charlotte the second addition in 2009.
Her law enforcement career began in 1986 with the Winston Salem Police Department as a Public Safety Officer. As a Sworn Police Officer and a Fire Fighter. She began working in the Patrol Division. Gloria was quickly moved to the Vice and Narcotics Unit where she worked as an Undercover Officer for several years working closely with FBI, SBI, ALE and ATF and was instrumental in cleaning high crime areas up in
the city where she was employed. Gloria has also worked in divisions such as Domestic Violence, Street
Narcotics, Warrant Squad, and the Telcom Unit. Gloria moved from there to work for the Forsyth County
Sheriff’s Office. She worked as a School Resource Officer, Civil Division, Court Bailiff, Transportation
Unit, and Criminal Investigation Division. Gloria served as the Chief of Campus Police and
Director of Security with Livingstone College and sat on the Senior Administrative Staff as
the first female Chief of Police at the College and the first Chief of Police to sit on the Senior
Administrative Staff. She is the longest reigning Chief at the college where she served for 12 years.
She is a member of the Historically Black College and University Law Enforcement Executive Association where she is the Vice President for region II which includes the HBCU law enforcement agencies in the state of North Carolina, South Carolina and Kentucky. Gloria has served on boards such as (Forsyth County), Juvenile Crime Prevention Team (Forsyth County), the Child Fatality Prevention Team (Forsyth County) and the North Carolina Chief of Police Association.
